…what are the pros and cons of wine scores?
There has been a discussion among Italian wine writers and wine critics about the scoring system and how it’s applied.
Not only whether it is good or bad but how there nowadays is a tendency to give between 90–100 points to all wines.
At the same time, some argue there should be the proper differentiation; to give lower points to not-so-convincing wines and not to be afraid to go high when a wine is fantastic.
Here, I am more thinking about wine scores in the context of magazines and wine critics rather than in wine competitions.
But what are the pro and cons of wine scoring?
